Man from Monett to stand trial on child abuse charges.

A man from Monett will stand trial on charges of allegedly sexually abusing a 4-year-old child.

That comes after a preliminary hearing in Lawrence County Circuit Court on Monday. 38-year-old Timothy Wilson will stand trial on charges of first-degree sodomy and second degree-child molestation.

Child advocate Ashley Thomas from the Children’s Center in Monett testified at the hearing that the  4-year-old girl told her during an interview that Wilson had touched her inappropriately.

The child was taken to the Center after the child’s mother contacted the Monett Police Department.
