Blunt talks about not running for re-election during Meet the Press
Blunt made his initial announcement regarding the matter March 8
Just two weeks ago, Missouri US Senator Roy Blunt announced that he would be not be running for re-election in 2022.
On NBC’s Meet the Press that aired Sunday, Blunt talked about his decision.
Senator Blunt said, “At the end of this term, I’ll have been in the Congress for 26 years, and 20 years in Missouri politics before that. If 15 general election victories is not enough to satisfy even the neediest politician, I don’t know what would be.”
Blunt also talked about the numerous areas he’d championed for – mental health reform and health care research.
