Freeman announces progress in battle against Covid
Freeman Health System announced Tuesday that patient numbers in the covid 19 intensive care unit have reached a new low of one. Some of the reasons include persons getting vaccinated. But the Freeman Director of Covid Services, Robert McNab, says precautions still need to be taken. “Some people who have received the vaccine have no symptoms, get the illness and can still spread the virus.”
Since covid came to the area, Freeman has tested just under forty nine thousand people with just under ten thousand testing positive.
McNab also says there has been one good side effect to persons taking precautions to fight covid, the lack of flu season this winter.
The record low flu cases are not only in the Joplin area but in the entire state of Missouri.
