Man under influence of drugs arrested by MSHP Sunday.

A man from Tulsa is currently in Lawrence County Jail after Missouri State Highway Reports say he was witnessed driving erratically, passing vehicles on the shoulder, and was found to be under the influence of drugs on Sunday.

46-year-old James Schweikhard reportedly was traveling north on Missouri Highway 59 to I-44 and then east. Reports say that spike strips were deployed, which caused the driver to lose control and then crash into the median cable on Sunday.

Schwiekhard faces charges of:  Resisting Arrest/ Detention/Stop by Fleeing- Creating a Substantial Risk of Serious Injury/Death to any Person, Tampering with Motor Vehicle- 1st Degree, Driving while intoxicated drugs.

He was arrested afterward.

Schweikhard’s next court date is Thursday, March 4.
