Pittsburg Police searching for armed robbery suspect

Pittsburg Police are searching for a suspect after an alleged armed robbery that took place Thursday night. Read the full press release below:

On Thursday, February 25, 2021, at approximately 11:32 p.m., officers with the Pittsburg Police Department were dispatched to Casey’s General Store, located at 612 S Broadway in Pittsburg, for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

It was reported to police that a stocky build, African-American male, approximately 5’5″ to 5’10” in height, wearing a dark color hooded sweatshirt and a mask, had entered the building, displayed a handgun to staff, and demanded cash from the register.

The suspect left the building southbound a short time later with an undisclosed amount of cash. During the robbery, an employee was struck with the handgun, however, the employee was not injured.

Officers and detectives searched the area for the suspect. Efforts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful and the identity of the suspect is still unknown at this time.
