U.K. variant found in multiple Missouri wastewater systems
There’s only been one case of the U.K. variant of COVID-19 confirmed in Missouri.
But the Missouri Dept. of Health and Senior Services says virologists have found evidence of the variant in more than 13 wastewater systems in the state.
The information came from the Coronavirus Sewer-Shed Surveilllance Project conducted by the University of Missouri-Columbia, the State Health Department and Missouri DNR.
More than 1 million people have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 shot in Missouri.
That represents just under 12 percent of the population but about 40 other states have a higher percentage of their residents vaccinated.
