Suit filed in connection with fatal shooting last year by sheriff’s deputy
A suit has been filed by a Missouri man whose daughter was fatally shot last year by a sheriff’s deputy.
Jordan Schutte, a former deputy in Pettis County, is accused in the suit of using excessive force when he shot Hannah Fizer in Sedalia last June.
The 25-year-old woman, who was not armed, was shot five times as she sat in her car. Her father contends that her death would have been avoided if Schutte have followed police procedures.
Schutte said Fizer told him she had a gun and threatened him.
A special investigator ruled in September that the shooting was justified.
