Construction on Rangeline to start Monday.
Rangeline Road and 44th Street will be closed starting Monday, February 22, according to the city of Joplin’s website.
This closure affects the eastern end of 44th Street between Richard Joseph Avenue and Range Line.
The original closure was scheduled for February 8th but was delayed due to weather conditions.
When the road construction is completed, 44th street will need to be paved. The closure may be extended to April due to the weather conditions required for paving.
From a post on the city of Joplin’s website, “The project to widen 44th Street, from Connecticut Avenue east to Range Line Road, and Connecticut Avenue from the bridge over Interstate 44, south to 44th Street began in Spring 2019. It includes a five-lane road, with a sidewalk and shared use path, as well as a roundabout at the intersection of 44th and Connecticut Avenue.”
“This project is funded through the 3/8 cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax approved by voters in 2014. D&E Plumbing Company is the contractor. “
