Couple has same heart procedure

Married for over fifty one years, Charles and Lenora Sweeney are the first local couple to both have a TAVR heart procedure done in the same year at Freeman Health System of Joplin.. 

The TAVR operation is an option that does not require open heart surgery and allows for a much quicker recovery.   

Lenora had her procedure done in June of 2019.   Within a week, she reports being able to do most activities again.   Charles had his procedure performed about six months later, also with a quick recovery.
