Congressman Billy Long visits Freeman Health System

Missouri 7th District Congressman Billy Long paying a visit to Joplin’s Freeman Health System today to meet with doctors, nurses and administrators in the thick of the battle against COVID-19.

Long says his listening tour at southwest Missouri hospitals has been an emotional experience.

“I mean we have a lot of tears shed from these nurses that have been on the front lines for months,” Long said. “It’s just heart-wrenching to hear the stories so its nice for them to know somebody cares, somebody is listening to them from Washington,” he added.

Congressman Long says most of the people in his district share the same goal.

“People are fed up, they’re frustrated,” Long declared.”They want the vaccine.”

Long says he’s doing everything he can do to make sure people are taking the virus seriously.
