Two found dead after house fire in southwest Missouri

BATTLEFIELD, Mo. (AP) – Authorities have identified two people found dead after a house fire as a married couple from southwest Missouri .

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday night that the victims were 59-year old Donald Kipp and 50-year-old Shawna Kipp, both of Battlefield.

The Springfield News-Leader reports that the sheriff’s office said the investigation into Wednesday’s fire is ongoing and the exact cause of death “has not been released at this time.”

Shawna Kipp had worked as an executive assistant at the News-Leader and later at a law office.

The Kipps had five children between them and multiple grandchildren
