Good news about the fight against COVID-19 in Joplin
There is good news this week about the fight against COVID-19 in the City of Joplin.
Figures show that the rolling average of new cases is down to 21 after peaking at 40 in the first week of this month.
Joplin Mayor Ryan Stanley said at this week’s city briefing that several practices the city has adopted, including a controversial mask ordinance, are working.
“We are certainly playing a winning hand when it comes to COVID,” Mayor Stanley stated. “We are absolutely in the process of winning this and defeating this virus.”
He says the worst thing the city could do now is declare victory too soon.
