Former V.A. pathologist Levy sentenced to 20 years in federal prison
FAYETTEVILLE, ARK – Twenty years in federal prison: That was the sentence today for former V.A. pathologist Morris Levy.
The 54-year-old Levy pleaded guilty last June to 12 counts of wire fraud, 12 counts of mail fraud and three counts of involuntary manslaughter.
Levy was accused of working at the Veterans Healthcare System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, Ark. while impaired, accessing patient records and falsifying diagnoses, leading to the deaths of three patients.
Levy concealed his impairment by taking 2-methyl-2-butanol (2M-2B), a chemical substance that enables a person to achieve a state of intoxication but is not detectable in routine drug and alcohol testing methodology.
