Early this morning at 5:05 AM, Parsons Police was dispatched to the 3100 block of Main St, to investigate a report of a truck with an ATM tied to it in Parsons, KS.
Officers found the truck when they arrived on the scene, as well as the ATM chained to it near Labette Bank.
The truck was reportedly stolen from Independence, Kansas on January 19, 2021.
Two weapons were also reported to have been in the truck, an AR-15 and a Glock.
The AR-15 was in the vehicle, the Glock was not.
Benjamin Ryan Whitaker, a white male, weighing 140 lbs, five foot six inches, is a person of interest in the vehicle and atm theft.
Whitaker is currently a fugitive escapee from Montgomery County.
He was being held in connection to a homicide investigation and is currently wanted for attempted murder in Coffeyville, KS.
Parsons Police believe Whitaker is armed and dangerous.
