Joplin water rates could increase over 21%

The Missouri Public Service Commission holding a public hearing to hear comments on proposed water and sewer rate increases.   The meeting for Joplin will take place at noon on Friday January 29th at 12 noon virtually by WebEx and telephone conference call.   It will also be streamed at psc.mo.gov.   To participate in the meeting or to make a comment, you need to register by calling 800-392-4211.   The proposed rate increase is for improvement to water systems made at Missouri American service areas around the state.   If approved, your water and sewer rates could go up by over twenty one percent.
