OHP “fully prepared” to deal with protests, if they develop
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is aware of the potential for protests at or around the state Capitol over the coming week and is fully prepared to deal with any activities.
Troopers are following all potential threats with our local, state and federal law enforcement partners and have spent the last week on joint calls with partner agencies.
The Highway Patrol has resources to protect all state buildings, employees and the public. Extra personnel have been activated as well as the Oklahoma National Guard to assist over the coming week.
At this time, there are no credible threats to state buildings or Oklahoma citizens. Business in and around the state Capitol will continue to operate as normal. The only difference the public may see is an increased presence of law enforcement personnel.
