Children removed from Aurora home; parents facing felony charges

A disturbing story out of Lawrence Count involving child abuse or neglect and child endangerment.

Five children were removed from the Aurora home of 33-year-old Angel V.L. Brown and her husband 37-year-old Joey Brown. Four of those youngsters found wandering in a park in that city unattended, dirty, several with dirty diaper, all without shoes or coats on a winter day.

The children ranged in age from 1 to 12. They and a 6-month-old sister lived in a home investigators say was filled with trash, cat urine and feces, dirty diapers and human fecal matter.

Angel Brown waived a hearing on three felony counts of child abuse or neglect and additional counts of child endangerment. The mother has an appearance set for February 8th in Lawrence County Circuit Court.

The husband was also charged. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
