Joplin CBD business owner charged with promoting gambling
A Joplin CBD business owner is facing charges of promoting gambling after police allegedly seized 23 slot machines at the store’s location.
A search warrant was conducted on Dec 17. at the Chill House, located at 501 W. Seventh St., which led to the seizing of gambling machines and the arrest of three people.
The owner, who was listed on a city business license, as Dinesh Sood, 41, of Rogers Arkansas, was charged Dec. 22 with a Class E felony of promoting gambling in Jasper County Circuit Court.
Three Joplin residents were arrested during the search warrant conduction as well. Two of the individuals had warrants, and the third was in a vehicle in the parking lot.
Travis Brazas, one of those arrested on a warrant, had meth in his possession and was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.
This individual allegedly was found with over 44 grams of methamphetamine, 34 pills, a handgun, and a small amount of marijuana.
