Newton County man faces charges of drug trafficking.
After waiving a preliminary hearing on Monday for drug trafficking and felony charges, a Neosho man is set to appear in a trial on Jan 26.
29-year-old Jacob W. Norris faces charges of first-degree trafficking in drugs, unlawful use of a weapon, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
These charges stem from a search warrant that was served on Oct. 2 at his residence of Nighthawk Road.
Authorities allegedly found three grams of suspected methamphetamine, a bong, a drug pipe, and a loaded pistol in a jacket. Found in a second room was 493 grams of meth inside a piano bench.
A search of a barn on the property resulted in the alleged discovery of five shotguns along with a rifle.
According to an affidavit, Norris has previous convictions for burglary and theft in McDonald County.
