Tulsa man arrested for child abuse Sunday.
A man accused of choking and punching his son over a tote bag was arrested by Tulsa Police on Sunday.
Officers were called to the house Sunday around 7 PM after a report was made by a 16-year-old that his father Ricky McLaughlin had assaulted him.
The boy told officers were told that McLaughlin had asked the boy to bring him a tote from the backyard into the house.
When the teen brought the bag to his father, McLaughlin became upset because he brought the wrong one, according to the arrest report.
McLaughlin then choked the boy, punched him in the face several times, and hit him with a piece of wood.
The police report says the teen had visible handprint marks around his neck, his left eye was bruised and swollen, and he had a cut on his forehead.
McLaughlin was arrested for child abuse and is currently being held in Tulsa County Jail.
