Springfield apartment fire leads to the death of occupant.

A Springfield building fire on December 29 took the life of one person.

The Springfield Fire Department was dispatched just after 6 AM to East University Street, where they found an apartment fire.

While firefighting operations were conducted, firefighters located and removed 66-year-old Larry Woodcock. He was transported to Mercy’s burn unit for treatment.

Woodcock later died from his injuries on Wednesday, Dec 30th.
