Woman charged with skimming at least $100,000 from Carthage dental office

A local woman is charged with skimming at least $100,000 in funds during her time as the office manager of a Carthage dental office from 2017 to early in 2020.

43-year-old Miranda Wolf of rural Joplin faces three charges of felony stealing in Jasper County Circuit Court.

A court statement alleges Wolf took the funds from Cornerstone Dental in Carthage.

She allegedly failed to deposit nearly $60,000 in payments to the firm’s bank account, made unapproved purchases with the firm’s credit cards and and gave herself a pay raise without the approval of the owners.

Wolf was released on bond pending a January 13th court appearance.
