Late night Monday shooting leaves one dead.

Springfield authorities are investigating the death of a 28-year-old who was fatally shot outside a Taco Bell restaurant.

The shooting took place at 11:30 PM Monday.

Officers found Springfield resident Malcolm James in the parking lot with a gunshot wound.

James was taken to a hospital and later died.

The investigation is ongoing.
