Early morning crash in Joplin takes the life of one adult male.

An early morning crash took the life of one adult male in Joplin this morning.

At 7:16 AM, the Joplin Police Department responded to a vehicle crash report on Murphy Boulevard just north of the Broadway Street viaduct.

Officers found a passenger vehicle upside down in the creek along the west side of Murphy Boulevard. Killed was 28-year-old Alvaro Rivas of Carthage, according to the JPD.

Reports say that the vehicle hit multiple light poles before overturning and going into the creek.

The Joplin Police Department reminds all drivers to exercise caution and safety while driving.
