Carterville man faces 12 year sentence for sexual abuse of a child
A judge gave a 12-year prison sentence to a 23-year-old Carterville man who was convicted of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl on Monday.
Tristan Ash faces charges of first-degree statutory rape and second-degree statutory sodomy.
Ash pleaded guilty on Oct.2 to the charges in a plea agreement that reduced the prison time he faces, which could have ranged from five years to life.
The time frame for Ash’s sexual contact with the girl was between November 2018 and July 2019. The child disclosed the incident to a parent in October 2019.
Both Tristan Ash and his wife, Kaylee Ash, 24, were each charged in July of 2019 with three counts of child endangerment when their three children, preschool-age, were reported running around their neighborhood naked.
