Vaccines could be shipped to Missouri next week

Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Dr. Randall Williams says if everything goes right, the first round of vaccinations could be shipped to the Show-Me State sometime early next week.

Williams says the state expects to get almost 340,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine this month and vaccinations could begin next Thursday.

He says the first rounds of vaccine would go to healthcare workers, long term care center staff and residents and other top priority groups.

That follows Friday’s positive advisory committee meeting outcome on the Pfizer-BioTech vaccine.

The vaccine Emergency Use Authorization for Moderna will be considered on Dec. 17.
