Greene County Deputy seriously injured after being hit by suspect’s vehicle

A Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy was seriously injured after being hit by a suspect’s fleeing vehicle Friday morning in Brighton, which is between Bolivar and Springfield.

The Sheriff’s Office says the suspect of a domestic disturbance call led police on a pursuit which ended with the suspect allegedly deliberately hitting the deputy who had just deployed spike strips on Highway 13.

The Greene County Deputy who was injured in the incident is Lieutenant Steven Westbrook.

He has served GCSO for 24 years. Lt. Westbrook remains in serious but stable condition.

Multiple suspects were taken into custody.
