Unemployment is on the rise in America

Unemployment is on the rise for many Americans.

853,000 people filed last week for the funds, as many Americans deal with the holiday season and the pandemic.

This is an increase of 137,000 from the week before.

Currently, 5.75 million people receive unemployment benefits. This is an increase of 230,000 from the previous week.

This figure, while large, is down from the steep high tallied in May of almost 23 million.
