Monett passes mask ordinance
If you live in or travel to Monett, be sure to take your mask along. Monett is the latest city to pass a mask ordinance.
The measure was passed during a special City Council meeting Thursday night.
Masks are now not optional but required for those at businesses and public facilities for everyone over age six.
Exceptions include health conditions, consuming food or religious beliefs.
Offenders could face fines up to $50. The ordinance expires the first day of February.
The move by the Monett Council comes as cases of COVID-19 continue to increase in Barry and Lawrence counties.
