Man faces assault charge after physically abusing his wife.

Felony domestic assault for alleged physical abuse of his wife Saturday afternoon is the charge a 29-year-old Joplin man faces.

Joplin Police responded to the residence of 25-year-old Tiffany Hunter, where her estranged husband had returned earlier after assaulting her the same day, according to police Capt. Will Davis.

Tiffany Hunter told officers her husband had come over to her address and was upset because a dog had bitten their child. She told officers that he grabbed her arm, pushed her inside her residence, grabbed her by the throat, and forced her up against the wall.

Brandon Hunter was located in the 3000 block of South Jackson Avenue and taken into custody.

Hunter faces a second-degree domestic assault charge.
