Firefighters continue to investigate Monday morning fire
There is more news today about a fire on Monday in Joplin.
The Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a fully involved structure fire at 127 W. 38th just after 10 a.m. Firefighters found a three-story wood frame structure with heavy fire.
Crews extinguished the blaze, then had to tear down walls to find hot spots.
The building appeared to be a total loss. Crews remained on the scene until after 2 p.m.
The Fire Department was assisted by METS Ambulance Service and the Joplin Police Department, as well as the Redings Mill Fire Department. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighting personnel.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
