Neosho resident injured during Sunday morning accident.

An 18-year-old Neosho resident sustained injuries during an accident that took place in Newton County on Sunday. The incident happened on HWY 59, 1 mile north of Goodman just before 10:30 on Sunday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 21-year-old Lane Wasson, was stopped and yielding to oncoming traffic preparing for a left turn. A 2008 Ford Focus, driven by 20-year-old Daniel Carterman, then struck Wasson’s vehicle in the rear.

18-year old Neosho resident Ashanti Simons sustained minor injuries in the accident and was taken to Freeman Hosptial in Neosho and treated for her injuries.
