Pop-up public meeting on Joplin Parks and Rec master plan slated

Same evening as Holiday Tree Trail kickoff

If you live in Joplin,  you are invited to express your opinion and learn more about the recently-launched Parks and Recreation Master Plan process and the City’s facilities and programs.

The Pop-Up meeting will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

As an open house format, people are welcome to attend between 4:30 and 6 p.m. at the Senior Center, 2616 Picher Avenue, to meet with the consultant group from Landworks Studio of Olathe, Kansas.

Consultants have been assessing the City’s facilities and programming and would like to share their findings with citizens to seek responses of what they would like to see in the future. This information will be available at the meeting, and it’s also posted at https://www.joplinroadmap.com/.  The meeting will be held inside the Senior Center adjacent to Mercy Park.

“Citizens feedback is an important part of this study,” said Paul Bloomberg, Parks and Recreation Director. “We encourage everyone to go to the website, attend public meetings and watch for survey opportunities to give us their input. This is an opportunity to help us know what you’d like to see in our parks in the future.”
