A man accused of molesting a 5-year-old girl will stand trial January 5th.

A man who was accused of molesting a 5-year-old girl left in his care will stand trial on January 5th of next year.

This was decided during a preliminary hearing Monday in Newton County Circuit Court.

Lawrence Darcy, 55, of Neosho, who helped operate a daycare center in his home, will stand trial on a count of second-degree child molestation.

The girl testified at the Monday hearing, where she said that Darcy allegedly tickled her inappropriately while other children were present in the room.
