Early Wednesday morning crash injures one near Joplin
A 62-year-old woman from Carthage was injured in an accident that occurred this morning at 7:41 on Apple Road at County Road 180, about two miles east of Joplin.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado driven by a 16-year-old failed to yield to oncoming traffic. This failure caused him to hit 62-year-old Joyce Cooper of Carthage who was driving a 2014 Toyota Yarris.
She crossed the centerline and struck a 2009 Honda Odyssey driven by 42-year-old Joplin resident Hannah Jasperson, who then travelled off the left side of the roadway.
Cooper sustained moderate injuries and was treated at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
