Netflix announces an increase for services
With theaters shuttering their doors amid government mandated restrictions, Netflix has been a popular form of entertainment during the caronavirus pandemic. Now, however, the cost for that entertainment just got a little higher.
The world’s most popular streaming service announced Friday that the cost of the US plan will raise from between 8% and 13%. The plan will now be $14 (up a dollar) and the premium plan will go up to $18 (up $2) while the basic plan stays put at $9. The increases will be immediate for new customers and current customers will see the increase gradually.
Netflix gained 28 million worldwide subscribers during the first nine months of the year, already eclipsing its growth for the entire year of 2019. The California based company ended September with 73 million subscribers in U.S. and Canada.
