Eighth-grader passes away due to Covid-19 complications

An eighth-grade student who attended Washington Middle School passed away this weekend due to complications with Covid-19.

Peyton Baumgarth’s family told The School District of Washington, which covers the Washington, MO area, that he had passed away over the weekend. The last day of school Peyton attended was Thursday, October 22. On Monday, October 26, he was quarantined.

He was eventually hospitalized for his symptoms, but his health did not improve.

The school district said that they will have additional counselors available at the middle school when students return on Wednesday.
