Carl Junction voters to decide fate of public safety sales tax

Police and public safety. Everyone wants the best but city leaders in the Jasper County community of Carl Junction say they need more money to get the job done.

Voters will go to the polls tomorrow to  decide the fate of a proposed half-cent sales tax for public safety in Carl Junction.

The measure would increase the tax from 7.95 percent to 8.45 percent.

The money, if approved, will help fund equipment and technology improvements and police officer salaries.
