Wanted in Vernon County

A corpse found and now a death investigation is underway in Vernon County.

The body of 63-year-old Connie J Goodwin was found at a home on Quail Road in the Southwest part of the county near the Kansas line Wednesday morning.

Now, Authorities are looking for the victim’s son, Aaron Goodwin. The Vernon County Sheriff’s office believes Aaron could be in the Hot Spings AR area. Anyone with information regarding the location of Aaron Goodwin can contact the VCSO at (417) 667-6042

Update 10/30/2020: As the investigation continues, Aaron Goodwin is being sought by authorities for abandonment of a corpse in connection with the October 28th homicide in Southwest Vernon County, Missouri. The victim has been identified as 63-year-old Connie J Goodwin, the mother of Aaron Goodwin. It is believed that Aaron is in the Hot Springs, Arkansas area. Press release 10/29/2020: According to a press release issued by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office early Thursday, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a deceased person at a residence on Quail Road in the Southwest area of Vernon County near the Kansas line Wednesday morning. Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said his office requested assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Investigations Unit and the Bates County Sheriff’s Office. Mobile command units were set up near the crime scene as the investigation was being conducted. Mosher said investigators do not believe there is any danger to residents in the Vernon County area at this time. The name of the victim has not yet been released out of respect for the family and to allow for proper notifications. More information will be released as the investigation progresses.
