Plans were shown for Memorial Hall Tuesday night
Everything from a 1600 seat stage production to smaller-scale dance classes could be accommodated in the newest designs for Joplin’s Memorial Hall. Conceptual plans were shown during Tuesday night’s public meeting at Memorial Education Center. A survey will be posted online this week for the public to voice their opinions.
Two previous renditions came before the current plan, which included input from meetings with focus groups invested in the building. These groups were: American Legion, Connect2Culture, and the Downtown Joplin Alliance.
A third public survey will be posted this week by the city of Joplin along with a location to view the concept drawings for Memorial Hall. Brian Garvey, of SFS Architecture, will present the final proposal to City Council in January.
