Student’s experience learning challenges with Covid-19
There’s been no shortage of struggles that students have gone through with Covid-19. Many school districts have switched to a hybrid of virtual and seated learning environments. To add on top of all that, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education released a report saying one in five students does not have internet accessibility. The consulting firm McKinsey predicts that Covid-19 related learning losses may “translate into long-term harm for individuals and society.” An estimated $110 billion dollar impact in annual lost earnings for the current k-12 group, with $98.8 billion due to learning losses and another $11.2 billion coming from an increased dropout rate.
