Neosho High School to get new Performing Arts Center
The Neosho High School has plans in motion for the construction of a new Performing Arts Center. Just passed by the school board, the funding will come from a $22 million dollar bond issue passed by voters in June.
“Our band currently is at a 130 people we’ve had more and less but we have been trending up the last few years,” according to Neosho High School Band Director Dan Duffield. With the new facility, there will be expanded room to provide band students their own spaces. The expansion will also be available for theatre, debate, and choir groups. Currently, the auditorium can seat around 300 people. The new center will have a 1,500 seat capacity while also including balcony and mezzanine. The performance center will also be open to the middle school, elementary, and Crowder College. The district will share more information on construction when the budget has been formalized.
