Accused of murdering a pregnant woman, cutting infant from womb
A woman from Texas kills her pregnant friend, cuts the fetus from the womb and calls the baby her own.
27-year old Taylor Parker removed 21-year-old Reagan Simmons-Hancock’s unborn baby from her womb in a violent attack that also resulted in the child’s death over the weekend.
Simmons-Hancock, who was almost 8 months pregnant with her second child, was found dead Friday with her baby removed from her body in a home in New Boston,TX. A doctor determined that the Simmons-Hancock did not given birth before her death.
Parker was later stopped near the Oklahoma and Texas border. She told officers that she had just had the baby and the child wasn’t breathing, prompting the officer to call an ambulance. The baby later died at the hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma just hours after being cut from the mother’s womb.
The women’s exact relationship is unclear, but Simmons-Hancock’s family said she considered the suspect a friend, according to an online fundraising campaign.Parker photographed the victim’s engagement and wedding just a year ago. Parker is accused of faking a pregnancy in the months prior to the killing.
Parker has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of kidnapping. Parker waived extradition and was transferred from Oklahoma to a Texas jail this (Thursday) morning.
