Covid-19 cases continue to grow around the country and are a increasing problem for Kansas. Crawford county health officials are continuing their attempts to slow Covid-19 cases in preparation for flu season. Ascension Via Christi hospital is gradually coming closer to full capacity with patients. Girard Medical Center is working overflow for Ascension Via Christi. As more patients flood these hospitals, their ages range from 40-80. Many of them are currently on ventilators. Health officials are hoping that flu season doesn’t overwhelm them further, but it’s not looking good. One of the best ways Kansas residents can help hospitals this winter is by getting a flu shot. Getting the vaccination will help minimize hospitalization cases for the flu.
