Charges Filed in Accident
Charges were filed Tuesday in a case that involved a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Bennett and Fairway and crashed into another vehicle. This occurred on Monday. The driver of the Ford Escape, a 66-year-old woman from Springfield, was transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. Two suspects are in custody, Andrew Hammond and Seth Rievely, who are both from Springfield.
The charges were 1st degree tampering with a motor vehicle, felony fleeing, and second-degree murder all against Hammond. Hammond is being held in the Green County Jail with no bond, while Rieveley is being held for Failure to Appear from a separate case.
