Carthage man faces 10 years for sexual exploitation of underage girl

Sex charges involving an underage girl lead to a 10 year sentence for a man from Carthage yesterday. The man was sentenced to 10 years in prison on two sex charges involving a minor. Jerad Adams, the 36-year-old Carthage resident, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted sexual exploitation on Monday, October 5th.

The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney office came to an agreement of lesser offenses in an exchange for Adams’ guilty plea. The original charges Adams was facing were two felony counts of statutory sodomy.
