Two vehicle crash injures seven Sunday morning

Two vehicles involved in a crash on Sunday caused injures, ranging from mild serious, to the seven people involved. The occupants of vehicle 1 were two juveniles, both 15 years old, who were transported to Freeman West and Mercy in Joplin, while 17-year-old Tucker Engelman was transported to Freeman West for treatment of his injuries. They drove a 2002 Nissan Frontier.  The other vehicle, a 2011 Toyota Sienna, had 4 occupants inside who received minor to serious injuries. These occupants were: 41- year-old Roberto Lopez, 47-year-old Hermina Cabrera, 48-year-old Antonio Sanchez, and 59-year-old Cirilo Sandoval. All except Sanchez were taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment. Sanchez received care from Freeman West. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as vehicle 1, the 2002 Nissan Frontier crossed the centerline and struck vehicle 2, the 2011 Toyota Sienna, head on.  This occurred on Highway 86, 3 miles west of Fairview at around 6:50am in Newton County, on Sunday.
