Artist Bob Tommey passes

Nationally-known artist Bob Tommey has died.

Tommey was the founder and driving force behind the annual Midwest Gathering of the Artists exhibit in his adopted home of Carthage.

Tommey, who was born in Arkansas, is best known for his western art and for his work as an art teacher.

Tommey died on Monday. Services are planned for Thursday in Carthage.

Bob Tommey was 92 years old.
