Fugitive arrested in Parsons by forces from multiple agencies
On Friday Sept.25, 2020 at approximately 2:30 pm, the Parsons, Kansas Police partnered with the U.S. Marshals Service, Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), and Labette County Sheriff’s Office on a multi-agency fugitive apprehension.
Arrested was 33-year-old Bryant Lamont Smith. Smith was wanted from Jefferson County Arkansas for capital murder, terroristic act; unlawful discharge of a weapon into a vehicle and possession of a firearm by certain persons.
The fugitive was taken into custody in the area of Main and 29th in Parsons.Traffic was temporarily shut down during the operation.
The search for Smith was spearheaded by the U.S. Marshals Service Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force.
“We appreciate the hard work and inter-agency cooperation of the U.S. Marshals Service, KHP, and our sheriff’s office,” said Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks. “Another felon has been removed from the street of Parsons.”
