A Democratic party candidate for the 7th District U.S. Representative seat from southwest Missouri is calling it quits.
Teresa Montseny, who is running against incumbent Billy Long, says she is leaving the race due to health problems and family issues.
The announcement was made by a spokesperson for her campaign.
Even though she’s bowing out, her name will remain on the ballot.
Billy Long has held the seat since 2010.
The last Democrat to serve as 7th District Representative was Charles “Charlie” Brown who was elected in 1960.
